SENATE DEM LEADERSHIP REFLECTS ON ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF "UNITE THE RIGHT" RALLY IN CHARLOTTESVILLE

RICHMOND -- Senate Democratic Leader Dick Saslaw (D- Fairfax) and Senate Democratic Caucus Chair Senator Mamie Locke (D-Hampton) issued the following statement marking the one year anniversary of the deadly 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville.

“One year ago today, our community and our Commonwealth were shaken to the core in the aftermath of the violent alt-right rally that took place in Charlottesville. Senate Democrats continue to stand united in condemning the racism and bigotry that were on full display on that fateful day. Virginia is no place for hate and we are not afraid to say it loud. Rather, we welcome and embrace people from all walks of life.”
