Senate Dems’ Statement Honoring Senator Patsy Ticer

ALEXANDRIA – Today, as friends and family come together to celebrate the life of former Senator Patsy Ticer, Senate Democratic Caucus Chair Mamie Locke and Senate Democratic Leader Dick Saslaw issued the following statement:

“Patsy was a trailblazer in many ways. From her time serving as the first woman mayor of Alexandria, all the way through to her service with us in the Senate, Patsy was an inspiration. As Chair of the Senate Agriculture Committee, she championed Chesapeake Bay cleanup efforts, and her tireless advocacy for childcare, education, and women’s rights has shaped much of the progress that we benefit from today. Patsy’s legacy lives on in her family and through the lives she touched during her time in public office. She will be sorely missed. We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of our dear colleague and friend. Rest in Peace, Gentlelady.”
