Virginia Senate Democratic Caucus Statement on Sine Die

February 25, 2023

Richmond, VA – Today, the Virginia Senate adjourned Sine Die. The Senate Democratic Caucus leadership released the following statements:

“For the past 45 days, Senate Democrats went to work and delivered for Virginia families,” said Majority Leader Dick Saslaw. “From passing legislation that ensures the economy works for all Virginians, to defending Virginians freedoms, Senate Democrats are proud of the work we’ve accomplished this session. While there is still more to do, we are standing firm on our values during budget negotiations and investing in Virginia families. Let’s get this done.”

“One thing is clear, Senate Democrats are fighting for you and your family,” said Senate Democratic Caucus Chair Mamie Locke. “This session Senate Democrats worked tirelessly to deliver legislation that ensures every Virginian has the ability to craft and achieve their American dream. We passed bills to make our communities safer, we protected important safeguards to help combat the negative effects of climate change, and fought for our children by investing in Virginia’s public schools. There is still work to be done and you can count on Senate Democrats to continue to advocate and fight for you.”
